The replacement seats by Exmoor Trim is offered in Pairs only, complete with Sliders/runners and all fixings as a bolt straight in pair of seats which utilise the original four mounting points in the seat box. To compliment this the seat basses were also removable and simply located into the rear of the seat frame and then snap locked into the front of the seat runners making it easy to access the under-seat storage compartment and battery location. the seat could now easily be moved forward and backwards with a simple lift arm under the front of the seat cushion as you expect to find in most vehicles of this era.
These seats are far sturdier than the preceding series seats and with high quality seat sliders and runners the seats became a far superior product all round. The seat squab could be adjusted to any angle, which gave you for the fist time the ability to tailor the rake of the seat back to the individual, instead of simply resting on the bulkhead as with the earlier series seats. The Classic front seats offered the driver and passengers a far superior comfort level and now with their adjustment in the seat back angle and a adjustable headrest as an “optional extra” of course this forms part of the seats supplied now regardless. The Classic Standard Defender Front Seat was Land Rover’s first truly adjustable seats that came into use following on from the many years of production of the more basic flat style series seats.
